Keeping Automotive Air Conditioner Parts Running Smoothly
Automotive air conditioner parts can be plagued by many things, including contamination. Contamination protection is built into car air condition systems, but sometimes it just isn't good enough. Even high quality filter screens won't trap all the tiny bits of metal that naturally come loose as a result of your car's vibrations.
Since a common form of automotive air conditioner parts contamination is water, it's important to make sure the safeguards against this are in place. At the bottom of your drier or accumulator, there should be a substance made to soak up water. If that substance isn't there or isn't functioning, water can disturb your car's A/C system.
Other contaminants to automotive air conditioning parts arise from human error. One mistake that can easily be avoided is using the wrong type of oil in your A/C system. Quite honestly, you should put nothing into your A/C system that isn't specifically meant to be there, or you risk losing proper A/C function.
If you're rebuilding an A/C system, you'll want to do everything you can to make sure it stays contaminant free for as long as possible. Put in the proper filters, and the proper moisture absorption devices. From there, simply do your regularly required maintenance on the air conditioning system, and it will likely work for you for a very long time.
