Automotive Quick Tip : Deflectors
- A deflector, which redirects wind coming at your car, reduces the number of insects that hit the windshield and also protects the car's hood from stones thrown up out of the roadway.
- Installation is quite simple: some deflectors attach with screws, while others are fastened to the car by means of hook-and-loop tape.
- Here's how to install one of the latter:
- First clean the front of the hood and let it dry, then test-fit the deflector to be sure it's centered, noting the location of the mounting tabs.
- Remove the deflector and use alcohol to clean the spots where the tabs meet the hood. Then reposition, peel the backing from the tabs and press firmly.
- Allow 24 hours for the adhesive to cure.
