Vehical Starting Problems
If your vehicle has trouble starting here are some things you may want to check out:
- Battery cables and contacts :
Check your battery's terminals to make sure they are connected securely and are clear of debris and corrosion. If those are clear, and you're still having problems starting, you may need to have your battery checked at a service center.
- Distributor cap :
Moisture underneath the distributor cap can impede starting. Carefully lift the cap off and dry the bottom surface with a paper towel. If that doesn't solve the problem, it's possible the distributor cap may need replacing.
- Sparkplug wires :
Sparkplug wires need to be replaced occasionally. If the plug wires on your vehicle are in poor condition, starting may be problematic. If they are beginning to look dry or cracked, it may be time to replace them.
